Transforming practice to improve patient care in Radiology

The Center for Practice Transformation (CPX) in the Department of Radiology facilitates the development, testing, and implementation of initiatives to reimagine the way radiology care is delivered, improve patient outcomes, optimize patient and clinician experience, and decrease the cost of care.

To kick off their first year, the team is launching a crowdsourcing challenge to collect big ideas to improve how patients and caregivers experience care within the Department of Radiology.

The team is especially interested in ideas that directly improve the patient experience - such as the neuroradiology initiative to decrease IV contrast to MS patients undergoing follow-up brain and spine MRI - or improve care delivery by reimagining workflow.

Submitters of winning ideas, as selected by the challenge committee, will receive funding and support from the CPX team to pilot their ideas in the Department of Radiology.

The submission period for this challenge has closed.  Check back soon for information on next steps.

About the Center for Practice Transformation

The Center for Practice Transformation (CPX) in the Department of Radiology facilitates the development, testing, and implementation of initiatives to reimagine the way radiology care is delivered, improve patient outcomes, optimize patient and clinician experience, and decrease the cost of care.

It applies innovation principles to identify opportunities to improve how patients and their families experience care in radiology, support referring physicians in managing their patients, enable radiologists to use cutting-edge technology to deliver care, and train the next generation of radiologists to deliver the highest quality care.

CPX provides the perfect environment for individuals looking to usher radiology into the future, both within Penn Medicine and in the community at large.
